Awesome environmental company GreeNEWit will be helping us to "green" the tour this year and spread the message of sustainability. Wahoos Fish Tacos will be keeping the grinds flowing, I-Path is supplying the killer hemp kicks.. And all along the way we'll be cross-promoting the West Beach Festival! SURF ROOTS TOUR
Resin Music kicked off the 1st annual Surf Roots Tour in 2006 with concerts up and down the CA coast at clubs, colleges and surf events. Our goal was to create a new Warped Tour but with a way better vibe! The tour has featured dates with COMMON SENSE, THE EXPENDABLES, REBELUTION, THE B FOUNDATION, SLACKSTRING, TOMORROWS BAD SEEDS, OPM and CHAPTER 11 at events such as the US Open of Surfing, ASR, SWAT Spring Break, Chico State U., Dive & Surf's D-Man Festival, and Reggae by the Bay Festival at Queen Mary Park. The Tour promotes a positive lifestyle and environmental consciousness. We have put together charity benefit shows for Heal the Bay, Surfrider Foundation, Surfers Healing and the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society. The mission is making a difference! Resin Music's 5th Annual SURF ROOTS TOUR is set to kick off July 21st at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The "#1 destination for summertime good vibes" will be hitting 23 major markets spreading not only reggae, rock & surf music, but also the message of environmental consciousness. Environmental company greeNEWit is on board this year, helping to spread the message of sustainability with a video presentation at every show. Strictly recycled paper is being used for the posters from CD Rollout. Wahoos Fish Tacos will be helping take the tour to the next level with exposure in all their locations. And along the way the tour will be cross-promoting the West Beach Festival which goes on Sept.24-26th in Santa Barbara, CA. Thanks to Twiin Productions, the Surf Roots Tour is the road to West Beach!
This year's headline artists are the hottest up & comers from Hawaii, Australia and California! Hawaiian superstar Rylee Anuheake'alaokalokelani Jenkins aka ANUHEA is leading the charge, with two huge hits in Hawaii "Come Over Love" and "Here I Go Again." She is featured in the new iPad campaign in every Apple store and currently the top selling Hawaiian artist next to Jack Johnson. ANUHEA's name translates to "a cool breeze of the heavenly rose" and she is certainly a breath of fresh air! THE GREEN is another Hawaiian standout skyrocketing to the top, with the current #1 song on Hawaiian radio "Love I", 19 straight weeks on the Billboard Reggae Album Top 10, and #3 on iTunes Reggae Chart. They'll be pulling double duty on the tour, doing their own set and also backing Anuhea. San Diego's STRANGER recently won 'Best World Music' artist at the 2009 San Diego Music Awards and are well known for their unique blend of roots reggae,jazz and soul. And TAMARAMA from Tamarama Beach, Australia is making a huge splash with their surf rock style, recently signed to Motown Universal and brand new debut album 'Tamarama' produced by David Kahane (Sublime, The Strokes).
