This all-star panel of writers presents a casual and open discussion of the process of writing for film. Panelists include:

 

·         Crystal Bratton and Kerry Valderrama who co-wrote WSIFF film submission Sanitarium, starring Lou Diamond Phillips.

 

·         David Spence wrote the Opening Night Film, Roswell FM.

 

·         Mark Medoff has a long writing history including Children of a Lesser Gods.

 

·         Amy Lanasa has written numerous plays and currently teaches at NMSU. 

 

Having such a varied and broad panel of accomplished writers is a rare opportunity for a budding writer to learn about the art and business of writing for stage or screen.

Chris McDonald, one of the leading American character actors with numerous film and television roles, including Shooter McGavin in HAPPY GILMORE will share his knowledge on what it takes to craft a character and succeed in show business.  McDonald will take us behind the scenes as he reveals the process and predicament of acting.  He will break down a scene before a live audience, showing his process as an actor.  He will also talk about the various roles he has had, how he got them and what he used as an actor for inspiration.
