1999: A Tribute to the Artist is made up of rock 'n' roll musicians who bring to life the music of one of their biggest influences - Prince.

Based in Chapel Hill, N.C., 1999 pays tribute to Prince by performing nearly 2 hours of The Artist's greatest hits at venues across the nation. With Hugh Swaso as Prince, Jamie McFarlane on bass, Justin Holder on drums and Lance Ashley on the keys, 1999 is a visual and sonic voyage back to a time of big hair, gold chains and little red Corvettes. When not in costume, the members of 1999 rock their original music as the band SWASO. This dynamic group gives audiences an experience like no other.
